Satnav Driving Test

The test examiner will require the learner driver to follow directions from a setup Sat-nav independently. The Satnav will show the route that the student needs to follow. The make or model of sat nav device utilised during the examination will not make a difference as the driving test-route will be identical. In case the learner driver accidentally takes a different road, the examiner will let them know and give instructions. That said, we highly suggest the Tomtom Start 52 mainly because it’s what examiners use whilst conducting driving tests.

Practise

As a service-oriented company, we provide our customers with extra support and help for our test routes. Using Route-Led's test routes enables the customers to experience the corners, junctions and roads that they will be driving on during their driving tests. To help the student in learning how to conduct a vehicle carefully and in addition to pass the driving examination, we highly suggest using a good driving teacher. How it works

Independent Driving Test

If you veer off the independent driving route, it’s not going to have any effect on your test results except if you make a traffic offence, make an additional driving fault or break a traffic regulation. If you make a wrong turn, the test examiner will help you in getting back to the route. Where you have obscure or poor road signs, the examiner will instruct the learner until they arrive at the next visible road sign. The examinee doesn’t need to have a good understanding of the town. You cannot use your own Sat-Nav for independent driving, mainly because it gives the learner very detailed instructions. The independent driving section will test if you are able to make secure independent decisions.
