Sat nav Driving Test

In your driving test, the examiner will select a preferred route on the satNav. You’ll be expected to follow the route selected by the examiner as well as the instructions from the Sat-Nav device. The make and model of the device will not matter, mainly because Route-led's test routes work with a number of devices. You can’t use your personal Sat-Nav in the driving examination. For more information, you can get recent changes to the driving test here.

Practise

Route-LED provides clients with a large amount of help and support to utilise Route-led's driving test routes. You’ll get used to all the different sections of the routes to be travelled during the test. We suggest using a knowledgeable driving teacher as well. For more free information on what you can do to pass your driving test please go to Driving Test Practice

Independent Driving Test

The Independent driving test does not check your ability to follow instructions. Moreover, an independent driving test does not test your skill in remembering directions. If you need to query the examiner for updated instructions, he/she should confirm them for you. Going off route will not affect your examination results at all. Do not worry about unclear traffic signs as the examiner will assist you if you require it. You should understand that you cannot take your personal satnav device with you for the test. This is due to the fact that your personal Sat-nav will be setup to provide detailed instructions.
